Three charged in security-vehicle robbery

Three men were on Friday formally charged as investigators probe the circumstances surrounding the robbery of a security courier vehicle at East Road, in Kingston, early last month.

It is reported that over $60 million was stolen in the incident.

Charged with robbery with aggravation, illegal possession of firearm and conspiracy are 22-year-old Corrian Collins, otherwise called 'Jerome Blacks' of Spring Pathway, Arnett Gardens; 47-year-old Oral Chin, otherwise called 'Mr Linstead' of Mickleton district, Linstead; and Andre Malcolm, otherwise called 'Eloy', a 26-year-old security guard of Central Crescent, Lakemore district in St Catherine.

Following weeks of intensive investigations by senior detectives from CIB Headquarters, Flying Squad, Kingston Western, St Andrew South and Area Four head-quarters, the three suspects were taken into custody.

Police said they are seeking three other men as persons of interest in connection with the robbery. They are Kenton Smith, otherwise called 'Bredda', Courtney Ghetton, otherwise called 'Bubble G', and a man known only as 'Willow', all of Arnett Gardens addresses.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of these men is being asked to call DSP Carl Malcolm at 923-6197 or 901-3121, Operation Kingfish at 811, police 119 emergency number, Crime Stop at 311 or the nearest police station.
