Contracts for NWC office security approved |

|
Three contracts, valued at more than $397 million have been approved by Cabinet for the provision of security services to the offices of the National Water Commission (NWC) for a period of three years. Minister with responsibility for information, telecommunications and special projects, Daryl Vaz, made the disclosure on Wednesday at a post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House. The awards were made to Vanguard Security Services Limited in the sum of $254,838,782.16; Ranger Protection and Security, $81,896,885.28; and Alpha Security Services, $60,764,373.37. The minister said that Vanguard Services Limited will be providing services to Zone one, which incorporates Kingston, St Andrew, St Thomas, St Catherine, St Mary/Portland, Manchester/St Elizabeth, Westmoreland/Hanover, St James/Trelawny and St Ann. Ranger Protection and Security Services will cover Zone two - Kingston, St Andrew and St Thomas; while Alpha Security Services will cover Zone three offices in Kingston, St Andrew and St Thomas, Clarendon. The contracts were awarded on the recommendations of the National Contracts Commission and the Infrastructure Subcommittee. |
