No bail for mechanic on larceny charge

A mechanic who has been charged with larceny of motor vehicle was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

He is Duhaney Codrington from a Trelawny address. He is to return to court on March 24, when the matter will be mentioned.

Codrington has pleaded not guilty to the offence.

Allegations are that on February 18, about 6:30 p.m., the female complainant parked her motor vehicle and retired to bed. It is alleged that when the complainant awake she realised her vehicle was missing.

A report was made to the police and the motor vehicle was recovered in Trelawny.

"A one man name 'puddy' give mi di car to run taxi and seh I must give him $1,800 a day," the accused allegedly told the police when he was arrested.
