Man accused of killing another offered bail

Bail in the sum of $300,000 was offered by the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday to a man accused of killing another man who allegedly tried to have sex with him.

The defendant, Kevon Martin, from a Spanish Town Road address in St Andrew, is to return to court on March 31.

Allegations before the court are that on November 7 of last year, the defendant went to the home of the now deceased whereby it is reported that the victim made sexual advancements towards him and was stabbed in self-defence.

The incident was said to have taken place on Eastburn Road in the Kingston 2 area.

The defendant was taken into police custody on the same day following the response of a police patrol team that visited the premises.

It was also alleged that after the defendant was in the presence of the police, he expressed concern about the consequences that may arise if residents found out about the 'bottom business'.
