Cop shot and injured in Spanish Town

Up to late last night police personnel from the St Catherine North division were looking for men who shot one of their colleagues.

The policeman was shot and injured by gunmen along St Johns Road in Spanish Town last night.

The constable who is attached to the Mobile Reserve, was on routine patrol in the area about 7 p.m. when the incident occurred. It is reported that he was shot repeatedly by his attackers.

The injured policeman was taken to the hospital by his colleagues, where he was admitted in serious condition.

On Tuesday, a police party was reportedly fired on and a constable from the Spanish Town police station was injured.
