Hellshire Park resident killed |

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer The killing of a 21-year-old man in Hellshire Park, St Catherine, yesterday, has plunged the community into mourning. Dead is Oshane Henry, a labourer of Hellshire Park. One of Henry's relatives told The Star that he was walking along Canary Way, when he was attacked by three men. stabbed Police reports are that he was chased, held and stabbed repeatedly. He collapsed and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. "Mi hear di bwoy say raise the las nuh, and when mi look mi see di bwoy a jam him with the machete and a big hole inna him chest," a resident who reportedly witnessed the incident said. Relatives expressed shock at the killing of Henry, the second family member to have died violently in the last five months. "Last year dem shot one mi relative when him a come from a wake. Him name Andre Smith, plus dem shot four pickney and now dis," Henry's aunt, Doreen Spreggs said. Residents told THE STAR that Henry went to borrow a shoe brush, when he met his demise. Councillor for the Hellshire division Leon Thomas said he condemned the violent act that led to Henry's death. "It must stop, violence cannot be the way forward," Thomas told THE STAR. The St Catherine South Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. |
