Recording artiste Baby Chris is eyeing a spot at international record label Bad Boy Records, following a recent invitation by their A&R talent scouts to an open mic show in Hartford, Connecticut, after hearing his song What Did I Do, on a radio station in Connecticut.

Speaking with THE STAR, Baby Chris said the scouts heard his song being played by DJ Love and asked him to do the open mic show. The show was done two weeks ago, and he said their reaction to his performance was good.

"Based on their reaction, I know I did well. I could even do some modelling for them. They said I have the image, the swagger, the style, and as the girls dem would say, the pretty face. Is not all about the music for them, yuh can end up doing a lot of stuff," said Chris.

He continued, "It's a tremendous feeling because fi me as a ghetto youth a come out of Cockburn Pen in Jamaica to even get the opportunity to do an open mic for them is great. Mi give thanks to I-Octane too because if a neva him seh 'Baby Chris come tek on the road', mi probably wudden get da shine deh."

"Seanizzle and mi cousin Coolie Man from Canada neva lef mi a inch yet too," he added.

Baby Chris only recently returned to Jamaica from a one-month tour with I-Octane where they made stops in places such as Texas, California, Chicago, Miami, New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, Brooklyn, and Bronx.

He is to perform alongside Justin Bieber and Sean Kingston at upcoming shows.

"I also have performances alongside Justin Bieber and Sean Kingston at BB King in New York on May 17 and at Best of the Best on May 29," he said.

His recent performance at Spring Break held at Long Bay Beach, Negril, which included songs such as Mama You're The Best Woman, What Did I Do and Ring Ding Ding, was well received.

He is to go to England in May with I-Octane, Zamunda and T'Nez for performances in London, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, and Liverpool.
