For dancehall artiste Flexx, this year will prove to be a successful one as it has already been off to the right start.

Known for his more popular songs which include Swear And I Will Never, Gullyside College, and Walk Wid Yu Casket, the Gully Squad member will be aiming to take his career to higher heights this year.

So far the year has been a good one for him as it has started off more progressive than others as he has upcoming video shoots for some of his recent songs, Stepping Razor and Dem Can't Stop Wi Now.

He also has what he describes as another hit song with singjay Mavado coming soon. However, he decided to remain tight-lipped about its particulars.

Songs, songs, and more songs, that's the song Flexx is singing as he has quite a few to be released in coming weeks.

"Mi have like eight songs to be released by now and the next two weeks. I'm just doing the work and doing what it takes to keep fresh," he said.

He continued, "I'm doing a lot of songs because right now I'm going to be getting the promotion I need and I know I'm not short of anything that the business needs. I'm going to be more sharp like radio and such."

Since he made his entrance to the music business, Flexx said one of the high points of his career was overcoming the challenging part which for him was getting airplay for songs.

He sees not much difficulty before him now as he has somewhat made his name in the industry. In the past however, he used to sometimes sleep in studios just to get an opportunity to simply record a song.

His last performance at the Dancin' Dynamites competition at St Hilda's High, St Ann, went well and he was warmly received by the audience and for other upcoming shows he aims to do the same.

He believes that his new management team, Hapilos Entertainment, can give him the extra push he needs to take his career further.

They have worked together several times before as Fresh, which was his first major video, was produced by both Fagan Fraternity and Hapilos Entertainment.

For the remainder of the year, Flexx said fans can look out for more quality music from him.

"For Flexx in 2011 they can look out for big things because we don't really plan the music we just do the music. The rest of the year looks sunny, no stormy weather ahead. Wi just a gwaan expect a bright day and even shine inna it," he said.
