ZJ Dymond: living the dream

Kerishma Davis, affectionately called ZJ Dymond, is one man that is living his dream of being a radio disc jockey and harbours great plans for the future.

Davis is a past student of Dinthill Technical High School in St Catherine and works at Zip Fm.

"To me, it is more than employment. It is a dream that has become a reality. The position makes me feel complete, it's all good," Davis said.

He said his inspiration came from relatives and other disc jockeys such as ZJ Liquid, Collin Hines, DJ Wayne and others in the industry.

Davis who is on each Wednesday and third Friday from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., told The Star that radio is where he gets to release positive energy on the turntables.

He told The Star he entered the Heineken Geen Synergy competition in 2008. However, he did not win.

"I was aware that if I won then, there would be a gig for me on radio, " Davis said. He said he had to continue working at Magaritaville disco in Montego Bay, St James, until he managed to get on board at Zip. He said he continues to enjoy spinning records.
