GARY SUBRATIE's RONRON goes for another big scalp tomorrow when she takes on Triple Crown and Superstakes winner MARK MY WORD at 1400 metres in the Eros Trophy - three weeks after humbling speedster SAINT CECELIA at 1200 metres.

RONRON can't be made any fitter, winning her last two races in super-fast times, 1:36.3 for a mile and 1:11.0 for 1200 metres, taking her record to eight wins in 11 starts.

Richard Azan's MARK MY WORD has been almost as impressive, seven from 11, beating older horses in November's Superstakes.

However, he has never faced opposition as fierce as Subratie's American-bred filly. She seems capable of sitting in any pace, as she proved against SAINT CECELIA, generally considered the fastest horse in the land.

MARK MY WORD is, without doubt, the classiest local-bred around. However, at 1400 metres, sitting 2.5 kilos off RONRON, even with her 133lb, she is much too versatile for the local champion.

Shane Ellis has been enjoying himself aboard Subratie's filly. MARK MY WORD won't stop that fun tomorrow.

Azan should, however, land the 1400-metre Thornbird Stakes with SWEET BROWNING, who has been kept on ice by her connections since scoring a big 14-length win over LIVE WATER at 1300 metres on December 15.

three-year-old classics

Not even the lure of December's $4.25m Supreme Ventures Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes was enough to budge Azan, who opted to prepare SWEET BROWNING for this season's three-year-old classics.

She should have started in the February 19 Hotline Stakes but missed that race after picking up a stone squeeze. Azan hasn't even bothered asking her to step up the pace at exercise since, instead putting the bay filly through an easy five and a half furlongs in 1:10.4.

That's how he trains the big ones. SWEET BROWNING's running style and final time on December 15, 1:20.4, suggest she is a cut above the fillies and should not be ruled out against the colts over a distance of ground.

Champion trainer Wayne DaCosta's JET SETTER has been answering all questions asked of his stamina so far, sitting in the pace and rushing past rivals in the 1200-metre Sir Howard Stakes on February 19.

It's basically the same bunch of horses he's up against in the Prince Consort Stakes, going a furlong longer. He won pulling away under Omar Walker at 1200 metres and should again outclass the colts and geldings until his breeding catches up with him in the classics beyond a mile.

Round off those bets with REGIONAL CHARMER in the first at 1000 metres straight; the debutant SIR D in the third at 1200 metres and the out-of-class pair of LA'S DANCER and NEPTUNE in the sixth and 10th races, respectively.
