Star Tell Me Pastor

Emptiness and shallowness behind the hype
Dear Pastor,

I have been living in Kingston for 21 years and I have a lot of wonderful memories. What I am getting to understand is that most people love to hype. I know hyping is not a bad thing but these people take it too far.

Sometimes when you try to say hi to them, it is like you are telling them something bad. I like to give girls compliments but they can be disrespectful.

I can't take it. Please give me your advice. It is so crazy for some of God's children to be hyping on others, and it gets worse sometimes. That's all for now.

G.S.,

Dear G.S.,

Everything has its place. And the Bible says that there is a time for everything under the sun. But some people hype when they shouldn't hype. It is really a demonstration of pride in them.

Many persons who like to hype all the time in public lacks self confidence. By doing so, they are hiding their emptiness and shallowness behind the hype. It is said that, "empty barrel makes the most noise."
