Psych eval for thief |
|||||
|
Psychiatric evaluation was ordered by the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday for a man charged with simple larceny for stealing a pair of car keys. The defendant, Teddy Francis, pleaded guilty and was remanded until March 17. The court heard that Francis removed the complainant's car keys from a counter of a wholesale in downtown Kingston, while she was making purchases on February 19. The court heard that the complainant placed the keys on the counter and Francis took them and walked away. A man who saw what had happened held the accused but not before he discarded them in a rubbish bin. Francis was taken to the City Centre Police Station where he reportedly admitted, "Officer me tek up the keys and throw them inna de garbage". |
