The Islington Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man at Robin's Bay, St Mary, yesterday afternoon.
The man has been identified as 26-year-old Cornell Richards of a Harmony Hall address in the parish and a Brooklyn, New York, address in the USA. Reports are that about 3 p.m., Richards and a group of friends went to the Robin's Bay beach. While in the water, Richards and two of his friends reportedly got into difficulties. Another friend attempted to rescue them but was only able to rescue one before he too got into difficulties. A group of fishermen then came to their rescue and all three were taken to hospital where Richards was pronounced dead and the other two admitted in stable condition. Investigations continue. |
