Big Ship sails with three awards |

The artistes left the island on Friday to attend the Linkage Radio Awards in New York, which took place on Saturday night. Of the awards won, Chino McGregor won 'Recording Artiste of the Year', Stephen 'Di Genius' McGregor, 'Producer Of The Year' while 'Captain of the Ship', Freddie McGregor was awarded for his 'Outstanding Service and Commitment to the Music Industry'. motivation Singer and son of Freddie McGregor, Chino, says, "It was a great feeling to win that award, but it was also an even greater feeling to see my father honoured for his years in the business. It's definitely motivation for myself and the rest of the Ship family because it shows you where great, solid and consistent music can take you." Chino who is known for hits including Protected, Ruff It Up, From Mawnin and more, has also been nominated for this year's Excellence in Music and Entertainment (EME), Awards in the category, 'Singjay of The Year'. In the past Chino has walked away with a number of awards, which include the EME Awards, Youth View Awards, Stone Love Anniversary Awards and others. While Stephen 'Di Genius' McGregor, who only recently turned 21, has also racked up an almost insurmountable list of awards. Freddie, Chino and Stephen returned to the island on Sunday to prepare for the Big Ship and Tru-Juice seafood festival and concert, "Tunn Up St Catherine" which is scheduled to take place this Friday at the Dinthill Technical High School, St Catherine. |
