Patrons had to cut their 'Benz driving' short when the police made their presence felt at Rum's Fury on Saturday at The Kabana, St Andrew. They were dancing to Vybz Kartel's Jump Inna Mi Benz that was being replayed several times when the police brought the party to a halt during its peak. It was at this point that the selector bid everyone farewell. Although, it was only 3:15 a.m. and they were still full of energy, they simply made their way to the exit. smooth reggae songs In the early stages of the party, Kingston All-stars played some smooth reggae songs that entertained the first set of patrons. They played songs like Tanya Stephens' It A Pity, Richie Spice's Grooving My Girl, Tessanne Chin's Hideaway and Shabba Ranks' Mr Lover Man. Eventually, there were more fast-pace dancehall songs like Mr Lexx's Full Hundred and Elephant Man's Online. DJ Papizzle entertained with hip-hop songs like Jay-Z's 99 Problems and New Boyz's Jerk, before ZJ Chrome came and gave them some hard-core dancehall songs. He played Ding Dong's Badman Forward and Mavado's Chat Too Much. By the time he played Beenie's Back It Up, Vybz Kartel's Beyonce Wine and Aidonia's Uku, most of the patrons had started dancing. After a brief focus on the women who were enjoying his selections, Chrome got some major 'forwards' for songs like Bounty Killer's Fren Fish and Aidonia's Evil Head. This was short-lived as there was more gyrating with Busy Signal's Picante. On their return Kingston All-stars dedicated songs like Taz's Candle In The Wind and Bugle's Pearly Gates to persons who have lost loved ones. The patrons responded favourably to I-Octane's Mine Who Yuh A Diss. Based on the structure of the venue, the party seemed disjointed at points. However, a group of patrons took to the aisle and danced to Serani's Skip To My Luu while their pictures were being taken. Their hands were held high as they danced to Richie Loops' In My Cup. Soon after they were 'swagging' to Mr G's Swaggerific and other songs on Seanizzle's still popular One Day rhythm. In playing Mavado's Tump Har Up, the selector explained that the song does not refer to any form of physical violence. Then there was more hip hop but it was a small tease of Buju Banton's Boom Bye Bye that made the people get wild. Rihanna's S&M had people singing along and Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling got them jumping. However, it was Vybz Kartel's Like Christmas that seemed to have the perfect timing as it got people on the floor, on poles and in other compromising positions.
