An unemployed man charged with stealing goods valuing approximately $200,000 was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

He is Anthony Codner, 37, from a Gold Street, Kingston, address. He is to return to court on April 7, for trial.

Allegations are that on October 20, 2010, the police received information about a burglary at Sports Glamour Store located in downtown Kingston. When the police arrived on the scene they found a hole in the zinc roof of the building and ransacked boxes.

Further allegations are that approximately $200,000 worth of sneakers and slippers were stolen.

Following investigations, Codner was held. An identification parade was carried out in which a witness identified the accused. He was later arrested.

When cautioned by the police he said, "Offica a handcart me a push, me done wid dem ting deh."
