A 34-year-old man who was named by the St Thomas police as a person of interest in connection with the killing of a businesswoman in the parish recently has turned himself in.

Quesley Betty turned himself in to the Golden Grove police on Tuesday.

Betty was wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting death of 51-year-old shopkeeper Denise McNamee, who was shot and killed at her shop in the parish Monday night.

According to police reports, about 9:30 p.m., McNamee and her son were at her shop when they were approached by two men.

It is alleged that one of the men pulled a gun. The son then reportedly ran from the shop, leaving his mother behind.

Its reported that several gunshots were later heard and the police was alerted.

The body of McNamee was later found with a gunshot wound to the head.
