At least one man is dead and two others injured after gunmen opened fire on men who were travelling in a Toyota Mark II motor car on Molynes Road last night.

Information received by THE STAR is that the vehicle was attacked on Ascot Avenue some time close to 7 p.m. but the driver managed to drive on Molynes Road in a bid to escape the shooting.

It was there that the injured occupants were immediately assisted to the Kingston Public Hospital by the police who were quick on the scene.

"A deh so me stand up inna and mi hear some shot pump inna a car down deh and me hear seh a car get shot up," said a man on the scene.

The shooting caused a pile up of traffic on Molynes Road as unsuspecting motorists proceeded in the direction of the crime scene only to be diverted to an alternate route by police officers.

Up to press time early this morning, the identity of the dead man had not been revealed.
