Rasbert Turner, Star Writer A gas pump attendant who stole over $44,000 from his employee pleaded guilty to larceny as a servant and was remanded on Thursday in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court. Daron Messam, 25, of Spanish Town, St Catherine, told Resident Magistrate (RM) Ann-Marie Nembhard that it was wrong for him to steal the money. "It was just at a time that I ran in some problems. It was a bad decision," Messam explained. The RM then ordered him remanded until March 10 when he will be sentenced. The court learnt that in late January, the accused stole the $44,500 he collected on the pump. Investigations by the Spanish Town police led to his arrest. |
