Farmer accused of stealing van

A 39-year-old farmer accused of stealing a white 1995 Town Ace van valued at $350,000 had his bail extended when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

He is Codrington Duhaney from a St Mary address. He is to return to court on March 16, when the matter will be mentioned.

Allegations are that on December 10, the complainant drove and parked the vehicle at her home. About 5 a.m. the next morning, she heard the engine of the van being started. When she went to investigate she saw the accused driving the van out of her yard. The police were summoned and they arrested him.

Duhaney, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, told the presiding judge that 'a Tony gi me fi drive.'
