A Portmore man who was accused of abduction and assault with intent to rape had his case dismissed in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court recently. He is Joseph Findlay. His lawyer, Earle Hamilton, told Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Green his client needs his total freedom to get on with his life. Hamilton told the court that his client's case was adjourned sine die about a year ago. The investigating officer in the case told the court that attempts to locate the complainant have proven futile. The case was then dismissed for want of prosecution. Findlay's appearance in court arose from a 2008 incident, where a woman reported that she was held and abused by him. He reportedly took her to a section of Portmore, where she was assaulted but managed to escape and reported the matter. Following investigations, he was charged by the Waterford police. |
