Dear Pastor,

How are you? It has been a while since I haven't written to you but I have been listening to your program.

I have come across many disrespectful men, especially in Jamaica. They have no approach. They don't know how to treat women and it is very sad. Sometimes the words that come out of their mouths are disgraceful and they don't care. The sad thing about it is they see decent women and have the audacity to approach them, believing they are going to get a minute of these women time.

Things need to change. Parents need to start training their sons so they can grow up to know how to treat women.

You are quiet correct. Training begins at home. We know that children live what they learn. When their parents are disrespectful to each other, the children will do the same, not only at home but at school, in the workplace and in their social life.

Fathers who use expletives to their children, the children do the same to them when they become teenagers and adults. The same is true for men who physically abuse their wives, the children do the same when they grow up. They saw their fathers beat their mothers and accepted that as the norm.

Often, women who are vulgar pass on the same behaviour to their girls.
