Daley hopes for Rotherham renaissance

Omar Daley

Reggae Boy Omar Daley has expressed delight at securing a season-long loan move away from English League Two team Bradford City to promotion-chasing Rotherham FC.

The Jamaican, who has plied his trade for Bradford for the last four season's, has found life tough and minutes hard to come by at the struggling club in recent months. Daley, who got his career at the club off to a promising start, has failed to return to the heights of the 2009 season when then Bradford's promotion hopes seemed to collapse with a knee injury to the winger.

The injury kept Daley out of the game for nine months, but he is confident that he is fully recovered and anxious to get back to his best. The player is hoping that a fresh start at a new club will allow him to the opportunity to excel.

"Bradford and Rotherham are both big clubs and both in League Two but Rotherham are higher up the table. In this league you never know, it's who plays who on the day. But, I'm really pleased to be given a go at Rotherham and to get promotion on my CV, I would definitely love that," the players was quoted as saying on www.rotherham.vitalfootball.co.uk.

possibility of renewal

However, with the player's contract at Bradford set to run out in the summer, with the possibility of renewal seeming unlikely, it could well be a chance for Daley to secure a permanent move to club.

"I'm here to the end of the season and hopefully everything will go well and, if I do well, then the gaffer might want to keep me and if the deal is right then why not, it's a good team. It's a pleasure playing with these players like Lawsy (Nicky Law) and even after we'd lost today, I could feel the vibes in the dressing room were still strong," Daley said.
