UDC donates jet skis to St Ann cops
The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) donated two jet skis to the St Ann's marine police to increase their patrolling capabilities.

The ceremony took place on Tuesday at the UDC Pier, Ocho Rios.

"Today we have received two watercrafts and we are absolutely thankful for both of them, because this will help us to deal with law-enforcement issues at sea," said commanding officer of the St Ann police, Senior Superintendent Carlton Wilson.

He said the St Ann police have been having issues with jet skiers peddling drugs and committing other illegal activities in the area. With the additional skis, the police will be able to do much more, he said, noting that police personnel were already trained to operate the skis, but additional training was needed to ensure 24-hour coverage of the area on a daily basis.

"We never always get what we want but, certainly, this will take us a far way in enhancing our capabilities," SSP Wilson said. He urged the officers to take the best care of the units.
