Woman sentenced for assaulting teen |

|
Six months in prison or paying a fine of $10,000 was the option given to a woman in the Corporate Area Resident's Magistrate's Court on Tuesday who was charged with assaulting a teenager. The defendant, Sophie Dunn, from Bull Bay in St Andrew, was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm. Information presented to the court indicated that on the day of the incident, the complainant, a 16-year-old boy, was attacked by the defendant after he touched a little boy. The complainant was reportedly walking home and touched a little boy on his hand. The boy then burst into tears and hit the complainant on his right shoulder. The complainant then walked away but Dunn become boisterous, grabbing on to the complainant's shirt and boxed him on the side of his face. He was also punched. The teen then pushed Dunn, trying to get away, but she knocked him around. A passer-by witnessed the fight and told Dunn to let the teen go. The witness eventually intervened and restrained Dunn. |
