The St Catherine South Street Crime Unit has taken two schoolboys into custody for being in possession of an offensive weapon.

"The police went to the bus park where the two boys were searched and a ratchet knife and a pair of scissors found on them," an officer told THE WEEKEND STAR.

He said the police is very much aware of the violence in schools, particularly from gangs and will be doing everything to curtail it.

The aim is to have the police in the school or community where crime is taking place.
