Bahamian remanded for ganja

A 22-year-old Bahamian man, who has pleaded guilty to possession of eight pounds of ganja, was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Tony Bright of a Lincoln Road and Antiguan addresses will have to return to court on February 23, for sentencing.

Bright is facing charges of dealing in ganja, taking steps to export ganja, using premises to store ganja and conspiracy to export ganja.

50-year-old Pearnel Campbell who was absent from court is also facing the same charges and is scheduled to appear in court on February 23, when his matter will be mentioned.

Allegations are that on February 5 about 5 a.m., The police raided the premises of Bright and Campbell on Lincoln road in Kingston where four silver and brown packages containing vegetable matter resembling ganja was found.

Both accused men were arrested and charged.
