Students charged for deadly stabbing

The Clarendon police have arrested and charged three students of a high school in the parish in connection with the fatal stabbing of another student two weeks ago.

The identities of the students are being withheld. THE WEEKEND STAR learnt they were picked up earlier this week and are booked for court next week.

They are charged in connection with the January 27 killing of 16-year-old Alton Clarke who was reportedly stabbed to death metres away from the school gate.

Police reports are that Clarke was involved in a fight with two other students.

It is said that a fourth student intervened and went to the assistance of the other two students who were challenging Clarke.

A knife was reportedly brought into the fight and Clarke was subsequently stabbed.

He was rushed to to the Lionel Town Hospital and was later transferred to the May Pen Hospital where he died.

THE WEEKEND STAR learnt that a fourth student could also be charged in connection with the incident.
