CONCACAF U-20 Champs moved forward

NEW YORK CITY (CMC):

CONCACAF announced on yesterday that its Under-20 boys' championship will start one week earlier, and the draw for the competition will take place tomorrow.

The governing body for the sport in North and Central American, as well as the Caribbean, stated that the Under-20 boys' championship in Guatemala City is now scheduled for March 28 to April 10 due to a stadium schedule conflict.

30,000-capacity

The event will be divided between the Estadio Nacional Mateo Flores, a 30,000-capacity venue used for Guatemala national team matches, and the 16,000 Estadio Cementos Progreso, which serves as home to Guatemalan club Comunicaciones.

In addition, CONCACAF informed that the draw will be held in Guatemala City.

For the draw, hosts Guatemala will be placed in a pot with Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago will be placed in another pot, while Cuba, Guadeloupe, Jamaica and Suriname will make up a third.

One team from each pot will be drawn into one of the four first-round groups in a ceremony at the Intercontinental Hotel to be conducted by CONCACAF Deputy General Secretary Italo Zanzi and UNCAF General Secretary Mario Monterrosa.

Four teams from the CONCACAF finals will advance to this year's U-20 World Cup in Colombia from July 29 to August 20.
