A 30-year-old man charged with conspiracy to commit robbery was granted $200,000 bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

He is Kerron Mattis who is unemployed from a St Andrew address.

As a condition of his bail, Mattis is to surrender his travel documents and report to the Bull Bay Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between the hours of 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

He is to return to court on February 24, when the matter will be mentioned as the file is incomplete.

Allegations are that on February 17, the accused told the complainant to meet him in an area called Version Gully to purchase a motor car. It is alleged that when the complainant arrived at the location, no vehicle was on sale and he was held up and robbed of $130,000 by two armed men.

The complainant who managed to escape the robbers later reported the matter to the police.

It is reported that the accused was later pointed out to the police and the investigation continues.
