JP on carnal abuse charge gets March date |

The Corporate Area justice of the peace who has been charged with carnal abuse had his $500,000 bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. He is to return to court on March 10, when the matter will be mentioned for a preliminary enquiry. The justice of the peace, who was previously ordered to surrender is travel documents, is to also report to the City Centre police Station once per week. Allegations are that between March and April 2008, the complainant who was 13 years old at the time, met the accused in downtown Kingston and went to his house. It is further alleged that while there, he had sexual intercourse with her which resulted in the complainant becoming pregnant and giving birth to a child in 2009. It is reported that the accused was recently arrested after he could not be located for some time, despite many visits by police officers to his apartment. |
