POLICE in Westmoreland have seized close to J$1 million and US$180 from persons believed to be part of the lottery scam in five different operations in the parish over the last week.

The seizures were made in Whitehouse, Bethel Town, Negril and Savanna-la-Mar.

Five men were taken into custody following the seizures, three of whom have since been charged with unlawful possession of property.

Detectives from the Westmoreland Criminal Investigation Branch will continue to interview the two other persons in custody who have not been charged.
