Five-time Jackie Bell Knockout winners Harbour View progressed to the semi-finals of the competition after playing to a two-all draw with perennial rivals Tivoli Gardens in their quarter-finals encounter yesterday at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex.

Harbour View got the goals courtesy of strikes from Ranique Muir (45+) and Andre Steele (55th). Tivoli pulled level on the back of goals from Roland Dean (66th) and Christopher Jackson (83rd). Harbour, however, advanced based on the away goal rule as their first-leg tie had ended nil-all.

"I think in the first half, we were lackadaisical, lacklustre and it was as if we didn't turn up to play," said Tivoli's coach Glendon 'Admiral' Bailey. This could, however, have been said of both teams opening-half display.

Harbour View, however, took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Muir, who calmly slotted past onrushing Tivoli keeper Edsel Scott, after being played through by Steele. Harbour View extended their lead in the 55th minute when Steele scored with a beautifully taken 22-yard strike.

Tivoli made changes to their forward line and it almost paid immediately dividends, as substitute Dean shook off his marker before hammering a shot into the pigeonhole in the 66th minute. Jackson levelled the scorei n the 83rd minute with a well-taken 25-yard free kick.

Harbour View coach Donovan Hayles was very pleased to have finally got the better of Tivoli in the knockout competition.

"Most of the years, every time we draw Tivoli in this round, we haven't been able to get past this round for a little while now, so it is good to know that we could come here and get the desired result," Hayles declared.

Harbour View will meet Boys' Town in the semi-finals as they got by Santos 8-1 courtesy of goals from Anthony Dawes (27th), Daemion Benjamin (30th), Dean Thompson (36th), Xavian Virgo (50th), Jamiel Hardware (58th), Renae Lloyd (60th), Anthony Bennett (78th) and an 86th minute penalty from goalkeeper Kirk Porter. Santos' goal was netted by Richard West (31st), as the Red Brigade advanced 9-2 on aggregate.

Waterhouse and Arnett Gardens will contest the other semi-final. Waterhouse blanked Police National 5-0 to progress 9-2 on aggregate. Arnett booked their passage despite playing to a nil-all draw with Greenwich Town to advance 2-0 on aggregate.

The semi-finals will be contested on February 6.
