A man accused of tendering forged document to the police was freed after the Crown agreed there was no case to answer. He is Phillip Thompson, 25-year-old of St John's Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine. In closing the case against his client, defence attorney Courtney Maxwell told the court that no prima facie case was made against Thompson. Resident Magistrate Simone Maddix then granted a no order in the case. Allegation before the court are that the police stopped a car driven by the accused. He reportedly presented a road licence which was found to be fraudulent. He was subsequently charged with forgery and uttering forged document. In court, the lawyer said no fraud had been committed. He explained to the court that the document was photocopied, so his client should not be charged. |
