A curfew imposed in a section of the municipality on Thursday evening will be lifted this evening. The curfew, which was imposed in sections of the Westchester community, was in response to a wave of criminal activities which has been taking place in Portmore. A release from the Constabulary Communication Network said the boundaries of the curfew are north along Troja Road from Shenton Avenue to Benbow Avenue and south along St Ann Road from Benbow Avenue to Shenton Avenue. The curfew will also run east along Shenton Avenue from Troja Road to St Ann Road and west along Benbow Avenue from St Ann Road to Shenton Avenue. The release said during the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised in writing by the member of the security forces who are in charge of enforcing the curfew. |
