53-y-o succumbs to injuries |

A 53-year-old pedestrian died on Sunday while he was undergoing surgery for injuries he received on Saturday, when he was hit by a motor car. Police have identified the dead man as Anthony Fairclough of Long Bay in St James. Reports reaching THE STAR from the Barrett Town police are that about 8 p.m. on Saturday, Fairclough was hit by the driver of a Honda motor car that was travelling along the Long Bay main road towards Falmouth. Police said that he was rushed to the Falmouth Hospital and later transferred to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he died while being treated. The Barrett Town police are investigating. |
