A woman who is accused of defecating and plastering it on the wall of the Old Harbour Police Station was granted $60,000 bail in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. Stephanie Ebanks, a bartender, of Old Harbour Glades, St Catherine, has not been charged in connection with that incident, but an investigator told the court that charges are to be laid against her for it. Ebanks is before the court on charges of using indecent language, resisting arrest and assault in connection with an incident between she and another woman. It was as a result of this incident, why she was taken into custody. Defence attorney Earle Hamilton, in applying for bail, told the court his client was not given the chance to use the bathroom. bodily functions He said the accused kept asking to be allowed to use the bathroom to perform normal bodily functions and was not, hence she messed herself up. The lawyer told the court his client will honour her obligations. Bail was then granted on condition that Ebanks returns to court on February 11. She is also to report to the Old Harbour police weekly. Allegations are that on January 7, about 4 p.m., Ebanks became angry after being taken into custody, after an altercation with another woman. The court was told that she defecated in the police station's holding area which is at the front of the building, and then used her slippers to plaster the wall with faeces. This found police personnel and visitors suffering inconvenience from the sight and odour, until the area was cleaned up. |
