Confused by non-scriptural doctrines |
|||||
Dear Pastor, I have read several books, and I listen to people who say that God has given us the power and right to call on angels to raise the dead and to ask angels to give you wisdom and insight. Also, that Moses and Abraham both did this. Is it wrong to do so? I am a Christian. I think it may be wrong but I do not have Scriptures to contradict them. They have much scriptural support. J.Y. Dear J.Y., Some people put in books what they believe. There are many religious books that are contrary to Scripture. Many of the doctrines stated are not scriptural. Some authors engage in what is called Scripture twisting. So, because something is in a book, does not mean that it is right. You say that many have told you that Christians can pray to angels for power to raise the dead and also ask angels for wisdom and insight. That is not taught in the Bible at all. So, please do not allow these folks to lead you astray. Moses and Abraham did not pray to angels. Pastor
