Break-in suspects in custody

Investigators from the St Catherine North police have taken a number of suspects into custody in connection with a wave of break-ins in several communities in the parish including Linstead, Bog walk and surrounding areas.

The men were reportedly held during police operations following reports that thieves went on a rampage during the Christmas holidays and broke into a large number of houses in the affected areas.

Some of the suspects are to be charged pending questioning by detectives while the others are awaiting identification parades.

The police have vowed to combat the thieves and their regular break-ins.

"We are doing everything we can right now to handle the issue of housebreaking. We are paying close attention to Linstead and Bog Walk as these are the mainly affected areas," Deputy Superintendent Clive Blair of the St Catherine North police told THE WEEKEND STAR.
