A cash purse of $150,000 and a place in the 2011 Flow All-Island Championship will be at stake this afternoon at Jarrett Park, in Montego Bay, when Seba United and Revelation FC square off in the final of the 2010 St James FA/Captain's Bakery & Grill Knock Out Competition, starting at 5:00 pm.

The teams secured their places in the final following Tuesday afternoon's semi-final double-header which saw Revelation surprising Little Miami 1-0 and Seba United scoring a come-from-behind extra-time 2-1 win over Catherine Hall FC.

"These teams have performed consistently throughout the competition and deserve to be in the final," said Lilli-Mae Crawford, the competition's co-ordinator.

"We are hoping that the fans will be treated to a keenly contested final."

In their game, Revelation got a severe test from Little Miami but were able to successfully soak up the pressure, as goalkeeper Christopher Brown, who had a brilliant game, proved to be the hero, nullifying the spate of scoring opportunities created by their opponents.

After surviving the first half, which ended 0-0, Revelation struck decisively in the 49th minute when Kevin Wilson caught the Little Miami defence napping and booted home from close range, giving his team a 1-0 win.

"It was a gutsy performance by the team and a lot of credit should go to the players for the effort they put out in giving us this win," said Peter Dawkins, a member of Revelation's management staff.

"We will be looking to take this momentum into the final as we believe anything is possible in football."

In their game, Seba came under early pressure from Catherine Hall FC, which looked quite ominous at times through the likes of Rusea's daCosta Cup star Jermaine Woozencraft and Eshane Wilkins. However, the Fabian McHarty-led Seba United defence proved rock solid.

deadlock

After a 0-0 first-half stalemate, Catherine Hall broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute when Terry Thompson took a sweet pass from Woozencraft, dribbled a few paces and then fired past goalkeeper Neil Lynch, making the score 1-0.

With time ticking away in the game and Seba United all out in attack, they were rewarded with an equaliser in the 87th minute. The reliable Jeremy Bucknor bungled his way through the Catherine Hall defence, and despite encountering some sharp tackles, still managed to put the ball past the goalkeeper, ending regulation-time play at 1-1.

With no goals coming in the first period of extra-time and a penalty shoot-out looming, Bucknor again rose to the occasion for Seba United, firing home a close-range grounder in the 109th minute to seal victory for his team.

"We did not play as well as we could but the important thing is that we got the win and are now in the final," said Seba United's assistant coach, Omar Clarke.

"We will be aiming for a much-improved performance in the final."
