A day with 'The Cure'

Jah Cure - Hasani Walters

An ordinary day in the life of Siccature Alcock, more popularly known as Jah Cure, usually consists of either working on the next hit song in studio or chilling with his friends or girlfriend.

THE STAR spent a day in and around the Big Yard studio vibing with the artiste as he progressed through a day's activities on Monday.

Pooh Bear and Beast, long-time friends of the singer, were with him in the studio, musing over the rhythm. Engineers Shanguly and Kamal were also in the studio as they worked on recording the song he was about to do.

They were soon joined by John John who fell in love with the song's rhythm.

During a smoke break, The Cure reasoned with Pooh Bear, John John, Kamal and THE STAR about natural living, lifestyle and food. They spoke about making hits - knowing when you have a hit song from the get-go - and to be confident that your song will take the world by storm and top the charts.

Afterwards, they headed back to the studio.

D-Major soon entered the studio and it did not take long for him to be caught up with the song's rhythm and soulful lyrics. "Singa! Da song yah bad man! No man, dis too bad!" he exclaimed.

Jam 2 and Camar arrived soon after as The Cure was to voice a song on their Ska rhythm.

Soon, the words of the first verse were complete and Jah Cure headed to the recording booth to lay down the creation.

Line for line, he went over the song to ensure the lines were in perfect order. The musical genius,Pooh Bear, gave instructions and making corrections to his vocals.

They then took another short break and then it was back to the studio to lay down the second verse of the track.

In no time, the song was almost complete, all that had to be done was to adjust some of the undertones and to do a bit of 'tightening up'.

It was then a case of 'next patient, same treatment' as they listened to Jam 2's Ska rhythm.

Jah Cure and Pooh Bear quickly constructed a possible chorus for the song.

They laughed and boomed fists at each line they thought was brilliant.

That song had to wait, however, as he had to make a trip to the airport to pick up Pooh Bear's friend.

With the day almost coming to an end, THE STAR decided it was time to call it a day.
