Octane's 'Different Page' Charity Fun Day and Concert |

The big man, I-Octane, thrilling the massive - Contributed Singer I-Octane's 'Different Page' Charity Fun Day and Concert was a big success last Friday in Portmore. The Digicel brand ambassador had thousands of persons out to enjoy the charity concert. According to a release sent to THE STAR, main sponsor of the charity fun day and concert, Digicel sait it was pleased to be a part of the initiative. The company's head of marketing, Donovan White said: "Central to the Christmas is the spirit of giving back, which Digicel supports wholeheartedly and so Digicel was delighted to assist I-Octane in hosting his charity event." From as early as 10 a.m., residents brought their children to enjoy a full day of never-ending fun and excitement at Daytona Estate. Activities included a special football zone, bounce-a-bout, rides on the Digicel bull plus a clown who kept the crowd entertained throughout. Each child was also treated to a special edition of an I-Octane-branded notebook. I-Octane reinforced that he was happy to have successfully pulled off the venture for the residents of Portmore for another year. In the release, he was quoted as saying, "The goal of this initiative is to continue to give back and make a difference in the community of Portmore. I would also like to take the opportunity and thank Digicel for coming on board to support us." He also gave special commendations to all the artistes who supported the closing concert and the thousands of fans who turned out for the event. delightful shouts The show racked up delightful shouts of approval, evident by the fiery haze of yellow torches against a darkened Daytona Estate when veteran DJ Sky Juice was introduced onstage. Drawing on an impressive selection of 80s hits such as Love Me Please from the Bee Gees and a more contemporary selection, Vybz Kartel's Touch A Button, the crowd was in a frenzy as they screamed loud sounds of approval. Then the big moment came. I-Octane's entrance was regaled by a deafening silence and a sparkly haze of blue and yellow fire, lit against a darkened Daytona, as he confidently took the stage with Mama You Alone. As if this was not enough, the entertainment-drenched crowd rooted with howls of approval and the female patrons clamoured for more as he stunned listeners with hit after hit, such as My Life, Puff It and Lose A Friend. The 'Different Page' treat is an annual charity held by I-Octane for residents of Daytona and surrounding communities in Portmore. Other artistes who were a part of the show's line-up were Tarrus Riley, Kiprich, Ghost, Lutan Fyah, I-Wayne, Richie Spice, Ce'Cile, Wasp and Noddy Virtue.
