Residents of Portmore St Catherine have a new supermarket as Hi-Lo has spread its wings to the municipality, opening its 15th store island-wide. The store has provided employment for 40 persons in and around the Portmore community. The store, which is located at the Portmore Pines business district, was officially opened on Saturday, November 27. Manager of the store, Gumbiya Smikle, said the store aims to adopt a new style of serving its customers. "This store's aim is to suit the convenience of each customer. This means, we will be open seven days per week. There is also the convenience of paying your utility bills right here," Smikle said. Smikle said the new facility would provide a great atmosphere for shopping. "I like the cleanliness of the place, it a well-stocked place. I hope that they keep it like this," Marva Tingle told THE PORTMORE STAR while shopping at the facility. |
