Accused steel robbers face court |

|
The three men who allegedly stole $15,000 worth of steel from the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday. They are to return to court on February 21 for trial. They are Andre Green who had his bail extended and Tamar Green who was granted $50,000 bail In the meantime, a warrant has been issued for Kemar Baker who did not turn up for court. All three accused have pleaded not guilty to simple larceny. Allegations are that on November 20 about 1:30 p.m., the police got information that men were stealing steel from a construction site at the Coronation Market. It is alleged that upon the arrival of the police, three men were seen pushing a cart loaded with steel. It is alleged that when the men could not give a proper account for the steel and gave the police fictitious information. However, when the police did there checks it was discovered that the information was false. It is also alleged that upon further investigations it was discovered that the steel was taken from the KSAC premises. It is alleged that one of the men confessed to the police "mi nuh tief nothing a di two a dem hire mi fi carry di steel." |
