A woman is now in the custody of the Porus police following the stabbing death of a man believed to be her common-law husband, in Porus, Manchester, yesterday evening.

THE STAR has received unconfirmed reports that the deceased has been identified as Michael Brown.

Information reaching THE STAR is that, the deceased and the woman had a dispute which ended in the man being stabbed.

The incident reportedly took place some time around 6:45 p.m..

The man reportedly died on his way to hospital.

Further information received by THE STAR is that the woman claimed that she was attacked by the deceased and had to defend herself.

The stabbing incident reportedly took place near a shop in the Porus area.
