There is no trust |

Dear Pastor, I just want to tell you that you are doing a wonderful job. Keep up the good work. I am having a problem. I have a boyfriend who lives in St Catherine. I just cannot trust him; not because he is cheating on me, but I was raped, so I can't trust any man. I hope you will answer my letter. Rape victim, Dear Rape Victim, You are finding it difficult to relate to your boyfriend in an intimate manner because of the unfortunate experience of being raped. You are unable to trust your boyfriend because, in your mind, you see all men as rapists and abusers. This is normal reaction from some women who were sexually ravished. That is why every rape should be reported and the accused be arrested, tried and, if found guilty, be severely punished. And the victim should spend time in undergoing therapy. Evidently, you did not receive any form of therapy after you were raped, and as a result you have not been able to relate to your boyfriend without fearing that he, too, may rape you. Therefore, I suggest that you talk to a family counsellor and let him know what happened to you and how you look at men, as a result. Let him know that it has affected your relationship. You have my prayers, and may the Lord bless you. Pastor |
