GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer
Mathew and Mark Jones are identical twins from Downs in St Elizabeth. They are students in Grade 2 at the New Forrest Primary and Junior High School in that parish. The two energetic boys are sons to Fileeta Powell and Everton Jones. Not willing to tell who was born first, they eventually came out in a chorus and told THE STAR that Mathew was the first to see the light of day, but that it was not very long after he was born that Mark arrived. Like almost every twin, Mathew and Mark made it clear that they are not only blood relatives, but that they are friends, because they get along fairly well, despite a little fighting at times. However according to them, they become friends again in no time because they do not malice each other. Mathew disclosed that his favourite food includes fried chicken, rice and peas, fruits, especially oranges, mangoes and watermelon. Not surprising, Mark disclosed that those were among his favourites as well. getting ill There are some persons who are of the view that whenever one of the twins gets ill, it is a given that the other will be ill as well. However, the two were quick to dispel that myth, saying that nothing of that sort ever happens to them. The two however said that whenever one gets ill the other becomes very concerned and hopes that the other will get well soon. Mark's favourite colour is blue while Mathew's favourite is yellow. Mathew said he likes yellow because it is attractive. Mark said he likes blue because it is also attractive. Although they seldom dress alike, the two said they like to do so, but that it can be confusing for persons who would like to identify them. Mathew pointed out that he would like to become a paediatrician when he finishes school, while Mark said he wants to become a professional footballer. Mathew who is also a lover of sports said he loves cricket. Cricket is also a favourite sport for Mark. The boys love church and they made it clear that that is so because they love to hear the word of God being preached. They also pointed out that they love school, as this is where the foundation for their future is being laid. The two said their favourite language arts. Feedback: pehenrya@yahoo.com
