Gardner, who was an integral part of the national team that made a historic debut at the 1998 World Cup in France, last represented the country at last year's CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States but has recently been sidelined with another knee injury. "I'm not considering international retirement at the moment," Gardner told The Bolton News website theboltonnews.co.uk. "They have some good young players coming through, so it would be good to help see them through into a bright future. "I want to get back. Any time they want me to go over and help, I would do it." hampered by injuries The 39-year-old, who provided the cross for the country's first-ever goal at a World Cup, scored by Robbie Earle, has appeared 109 times for Jamaica scoring nine times, but has been hampered by injuries throughout his career. The latest has kept him from representing his English Premier League Club Bolton Wanderers in what would be a historic 400th appearance since joining the club in 1998. The Jamaican has not played for Bolton since September, a 399th appearance, against Southampton in the Carling Cup. He subsequently picked up a knee injury in training. But the player is not quite ready to give up his career, spanning some 13 years, with the EPL club either and is looking forward to his historic return. "The milestone gives me a motivation, but seeing the lads out there and doing so well does that too," Gardner said. "They have done a big clean-out on my knee, so hopefully in a couple of weeks, I'll be out there and training again. It was stopping me doing things I wanted to do, so I wanted it over and done with. In about four or five weeks I should be back out on the grass and ready to play again." Bolton's Gardner
