Promoter and manager Tommy Thompson says he is hurt by what he says are false accusations made by singer Shuga.

In Tuesday's STAR Shuga, formerly known as Brown Sugar, said that she is seeking new management after leaving from under the wing of Tommy Thompson, who she said was not doing his duty as her manager. Speaking with THE STAR yesterday, Thomspon, from Sheek Connection and promoter of the Settlement show, says that he has done a lot for the singer who hails from Montego Bay.

He said, "I took Brown Sugar and brought her to Kingston, got her an apartment, gave her money. I carried her to producers and mek her voice, I got her interviews in media. I had someone blasting her songs on the net, I got all of that for her."

According to Thompson he wanted the singer to sign a management contract with him but she didn't want to do so because of past experiences with managers. Still, Thompson said, he continued to work with her despite having no contract.

According to Thompson it was only after an interview she did on radio where she reportedly bigged up another company that he insisted she sign a contract, which she refused to do. "After, she said she had to think about signing the contract, I walked away from her, after months of hard work. And yet this woman says I haven't done anything wid her," he said.

He added, "I wish her all the best, I'm just hurt she put my name in the paper for what is totally unjustified."

When contacted Shuga, the 2009 Digicel Rising Stars winner, however, stood by her stance that Thompson was not doing his job as her manager effectively. She said, "I was never priority, he was incompetent and now I'm moving on with my career."

The singer has three new songs out now: Commander in Chief, Bloody Hands and Money Talks.
