When Marshal Taylor was younger, he preached to the bushes. These days, he no longer ministers to trees but is spreading God's message to men and women from all walks of life.

Pastor Marshal Taylor of the Over Comers of Life Ministries in Homestead, St Catherine, was ordained as pastor recently at his church. And, he is really proud to be ordained among three of his peers.

"I was born in Patrick Town, Manchester, and I usually go into the hills and preach to the bushes. So, I always have the feeling to serve God. Therefore, it is just a realisation of the desire to serve God," Taylor said.

Taylor said he grew up without a mother and his father died when he was only 10 years old.

"I don't know what breast milk tastes like as my father told me Mommy left mi from I was two weeks old. Is the love of God that really kept me,'' Taylor said.

He said that many times during his many fastings at church, he would continue it involuntarily a home as there was simply no food for him to eat.

preached in many places

The 24-year-old said he has been preaching the Word in the many different places and now he will be going into trenches to spread the Word of God.

He said this was a challenge he relished because if were not for the mercies of his Saviour he would not survive.

"I have now fully taken on the responsibility to go into the clubs, the bars, the trenches, to talk to prostitutes, lesbians and homosexuals as they are also loved by God," Taylor said.

He was highly recommended by his bishop, Audley Arnold who said from early he realised that Taylor was very special person and his ordination was well timed.

"This young man was born to serve God and the time has come for him to go out in the field and do the work of the Lord. He will do very well in his given task," Arnold said.

Taylor said serving God is his true calling and he realises each day how good God has been to him.
